Sharon Smith is a former PSO (Militia), having served for 4 years at Land Forces Central Area Headquarters in Toronto until 1994. Prior to that Sharon was an administrative clerk in the Air Reserves for 7 and a half years, serving at 1 Tactical Aviation Wing Headquarters in Montreal and then 2 Tactical Aviation Wing Headquarters in Toronto. Sharon currently works as a Vocational Rehabilitation Case Manager with the federal government's Canada Pension Plan Disability Program in Victoria, BC. She also provides occasional psychological testing services for a local Psychologist who specialises in childhood trauma. Sharon has an MA in Applied Psychology from University of Toronto's Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, is a Registered Rehabilitation Professional, and a graduate from Leadership Victoria's community leadership training program. For the past 15 years, in addition to her military work, Sharon's work experience has included vocational rehabilitation, rehabilitation case management, educational assessment and counselling for individuals with learning disabilities, psychological testing for children and adults, and program management in the areas of learning disabilities and neurorehabilitation services. Her current volunteer endeavours include: member of Board of Directors for the Vancouver Island Head Injury Society, Rehabilitation Professionals' Network (Victoria, BC), and the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation Professionals - BC Society; and is a member of Leadership Victoria's Recruitment and Selection Committee.
